Get to Know Google Classroom
Literacy MinnesotaGoogle Classroom is perhaps the most commonly used Learning/Course Management System (LMS or CMS) in Minnesota Adult Education. Get to Know Google Classroom is a self-paced, asynchronous course for adult education teachers and administrators who are new to using this platform, as well as those who would like to “level up” their skills.
This course walks through the steps of setting up a class, inviting learners to join the class, creating and organizing assignments and class materials, and sharing and collaborating with other teachers. The Digital Learning Team extends our sincere thanks to adult education teacher Kris Klas of the Hubbs Center for Lifelong Learning for sharing their original class and materials with us so that we can make them available to all adult educators in Minnesota.
Note that this course covers the features available in the free (personal) version of Google Classroom. For training specific to “premium” features available with Google Workspace for Education (e.g., Google Meet integration, Practice Sets, YouTube video activities), please contact the DL helpdesk.
To join the course, use the link above. You can also go to Google Classroom, log in with your Google account, and join the class with code td3vjxb. Unfortunately, school district or organization Google accounts may not allow you to join this course, depending on your IT administrator’s security settings. You may need to use a PERSONAL Gmail account instead.
